Reading Books = Power Tool

Ugh. I’m guilty! I wasn’t the biggest fan of reading, up until a year ago. How sad is that? You better believe if I had trouble sleeping, I’d just open a book and would past out within minutes. I read books because I had too, mainly for school purposes. I had a book by my bedside that became a dust collector for a few years. Being an entrepreneur, you’ll learn very quickly that reading books are a useful power tool. There will be a period where you learn that the internet can’t be your only source of information. Through reading books, you begin to have a greater understanding of a topic that interests you.

Where has my mind been all these years?! Books are so compressed with useful straightforward information, it’s crazy! For example: how to create a business plan, self-improvements in business, having a successful relationship with your employees and more. Although there are millions of articles online on these topics, it’s slightly different with books. With books, you create a structured path towards a better understanding and better actions to take in the future.

The ability to learn constantly is one trait successful entrepreneurs have in common. In the world of business, change is constant and with change comes either business growth or decline. In order to survive in a world of continuous change, it’s essential to frequently update your knowledge base and one of the best ways to do this is by reading.

What books helped you get to the next level?
